Their long-standing and passionate interest in weight loss has earned them both the title of Board Certified Bariatric Physicians by the American Board of Bariatric Medicine.
Teresa Boehm, MD
Dr.Teresa Boehm graduated Cum Laude from the University of Texas in 1991 as a Senior Fellow in the School of Communications. She then attended The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and in 1995 was named the “Outstanding Senior Medical Student in Emergency Medicine” by the Texas College of Emergency Physicians. After completing a residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, she became Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and practiced as an Emergency Physician at St. Luke’s and Memorial Hermann Hospitals in Houston.
In July of 2000, Dr. Boehm moved to the Austin area and practiced Emergency Medicine at Round Rock Hospital until July 2004. Currenty she practices part-time as an Emergency Physician at The Hospital at Westlake Medical Center. She is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians and is Board Certified by the American Board of Bariatric Medicine. Dr. Boehm has a personal interest in health maintenance, exercise physiology, and the science of nutrition to advance weight loss. She enjoys spending her free time outdoors with her husband and two children.
Amanda Dupont, MD
Dr. Amanda Dupont graduated Magna Cum Laude from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio in 1992. In 1998 she graduated as a member of The Alpha Omega Alpha medical honors society from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC in July 2001 and is a Board Certified physician with the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Dupont then moved to Austin and practiced as an Emergency Physician at St. David’s and Round Rock Hospitals until July 2004. Dr. Dupont is now the Medical Director of the Emergency Department at the Hospital at Westlake Medical Center and a member of the Board of Directors for Valley Emergency Physicians based in California. She is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians and is Board Certified by the American Board of Bariatric Medicine. She has two children and lives in Central Austin. Her personal interests are in yoga, health maintenance, nutrition and preventive medicine.
Michelle Escue, Family Nurse Practitioner
Michelle Escue, Family Nurse Practitioner, graduated from Angelo State University in 2005 with her Associate’s in Nursing. In 2007, she graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Angelo State University. She then went on to pursue her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Texas Tech University and became ceritified as a Family Nurse Practitioner in May of 2011.
In October of 2006, Michelle moved to Round Rock and worked as a Registered Nurse while she finished her higher education. She is a member of the Amercian Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Her personal interests include exercise, health maintenance, nutrition, reading, and fashion. She enjoys spending her free time with her husband and two dogs.
Kelly Cipparone, Clinical Nurse Specialist
Kelly Cipparone, CNS, graduated from University of Texas at Austin with a Master’s degree in Nursing in 2006. She is a Board certified Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist. She has worked as a registered nurse since 1993 and continues floor nursing at Seton Medical Center L&D.
In October 1999, Kelly moved to Austin from Arizona. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society since 2001and Austin Advanced Practice Nurses since 2006.She has worked at Austin Bariatric Clinic since November 2008. Her personal interest include: traveling, dancing, music, nutrition, crafts, cooking/baking, rollerblading, swimming, animal rescue, Bravo and Food Network TV. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and dog.
